Week Three Game Preview - Duke at Middle Tennessee State
Duke heads out for its first true road contest of the 2019 season this weekend with a game at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The 7PM kickoff will be shown on Facebook Live, a first for Duke, with Chris Hassel, AJ Hawk and Kristen Balboni on the call.
After last week's offensive explosion through the air via Quentin Harris and a number of underclassmen wide receivers, Duke's offense will be looking to build on a solid effort as they have one final game leading up to their first bye week of the season. However, David Cutcliffe and staff are once again dealing with a number of injuries to key players and are hoping they can get out of Week Three healthy before starting ACC play in Week Five on the road against Coastal Division foe Virginia Tech.
WILL ANY OF DUKE'S INJURED PLAYERS MISS WEEK THREE?
David Cutcliffe said in his weekly press conference that ten players were out due to injury when last Saturday's game started, and not long in to the game Brittain Brown and Shaka Heyward became unavailable due to injuries.
The full list of players dealing with injuries that have limited their playing time is expansive and includes some of the teams' top players in the depth chart.

DUKE ON THE ROAD
Under David Cutcliffe, Duke is 28-31 on the road but are 3-2 in the last three seasons facing off against nonconference opponents in true road games. The Blue Devils have a mark of 25-6 (.806) against non-ACC opponents since the start of the 2013 season. They have also won 20 of their last 25 (.800) games versus non-conference foes overall.
DUKE VS CONFERENCE USA
This weekend’s game will mark the first meeting between Duke and Middle Tennessee State. Of the 14 schools currently in Conference-USA, Duke has played Rice and Florida International during its 107-year history. The Blue Devils head into the weekend with a 7-1 mark against C-USA competition.
TRUE FRESHMAN TRACKER
Eleven true freshmen have seen action in the season's first two games, with six of those playing two games a piece. The new NCAA redshirt eligibility rules allow for players to get time in four games during a season and not have those impact their eligibility status for the season.
